Shilom had learned how intravenous vitamin C treatment could ease the painful, life-taking side effects of chemotherapy, as well as improve the quality of patients’ lives and prolong life expectancy. He also learned that insurances didn’t cover the treatment. Not only did he pay the IVC treatments of all patients in the facility around him, he instructed his family to introduce and pay for alternative medicine* through Aid L’Shalom. Today, we subsidize treatment costs accordingly.
* Vitamin C infusions and alternative medicine are only administered with the advice and guidance of open-minded doctors truly committed to patient wellbeing. They are used in addition to standard treatments.
As so many come seeking Dr. Hirschfeld’s advice and treatment, the premises are terribly cramped. Shilom, upon experiencing the lengths to which Dr. Hirschfeld went on his behalf, had embarked on a mission to make his treatments available to more patients.
The result was an undertaking to build an entire new floor at Bruckner Oncologists in New York. Completed Jan 2016 the premises provides a calm, serene and discreet environment for the administration of cancer treatments.
The new premises will also house a state-of-the-art cancer treatment sensitivity laboratory. Here doctors will obtain live biopsies of our patients’ tumors, test a number of different drugs, and gauge the tumors’ response to treatment.
The potential impact of this lab is remarkable: It could save months of unsuccessful treatment by identifying, which one works from the start. This will help doctors prescribe an ideal treatment course that is timely and effective, saving countless lives.
ALTERNATIVE & HOLISTIC MEDICINE
Aid L’Shalom believes in providing integrated medicine; combining the practices and methods of alternative medicine with conventional medical treatment and medicine.
Aid L’Shalom raises funds from generous donors around the world to aid cancer patients in paying for different forms of treatment. No matter the treatment course, we strive to ease the crushing financial burden that accompanies the devastating cancer battle.
As part of that initiative, we also work closely with the standalone Aid L’Shalom Vitamin C Program to provide patients with vitamin regimens that afford them the strength they need to keep up the fight.
In his final months, Shilom Neuman collaborated with leading oncologists to create a trial program for Stage 4 pancreatic cancer patients. He was striving to involve more medical professionals with the administration of alternative medicine, in similar vein to the vitamin C infusions he himself received.
The trial program was officially opened to cancer patients across America and Canada at the beginning of 2014. Today, it serves as a beacon of hope for many patients, when doctors have already expressed their defeat. While no results are ever promised, the infusions have shown to increase patient energy and resiliency to traditional treatments.
We are excited to share that we have now opened our pioneering trial program for Stage 4 pancreatic cancer patients, with zero out-of-pocket costs to eligible members.
DEDICATED IN MEMORY OF SHILOM NEUMAN
Founded in loving memory of SHILOM and FRIMI NEUMAN, Aid L’Shalom works tirelessly to ensure patients can HEAL using alternative treatments, live in COMFORT with the strength of our support, and AFFORD access to resources without barrier of cost or convenience.
Shilom was survived by his wife of later years, Devorie, who was inspired to dedicate her life’s mission to his name. While she witnessed both her loving husbands suffer and perish in the face of debilitating cancer, she recognized that alternative treatments such as vitamin C, acupuncture, reflexology, and other holistic measures eased Shilom’s pain and strengthened his failing body. She pledged to do the same for as many others as possible, affording them at least a better quality of life so they would see their family grow up, walk their children down the aisle, and live through their health challenges with optimism and dignity.
Even as he was staring death in the face, Shilom only worried about his fellow sufferers. He truly felt the pain of patients who are stuck in basement facilities and lose all quality of life. These new facilities are a ray of sunshine on the journey through a long, dark tunnel.
I find it amazing what Aid L’Shalom is doing for cancer patients. When we inaugurated our beautiful new 3rd floor, our patients had tears in their eyes. We see people every day who’ve been told they have no chance, and this incredible initiative offers them a chance to live longer.
Despite my condition, I stand up for Deborah Neuman, wife of late beloved Shilom. God bless her for everything she’s done for so many others, myself included, offering dignified comfort, warm nutritious food, quality low-toxicity treatments, and so much more.

Losing two husbands is something I never wish on anyone. But if there’s any consolation, it’s realizing my Shilom’s vision and bringing a measure of relief and dignity to those who need it most.
I personally witnessed how these treatments improved his quality of life, and believe that my family’s dedication to these facilities is the most beautiful way to honor Shilom beloved memory.
